Geometric interpretation

Recall that each equation of form ax+by+c=0ax + by + c = 0 can be matched with a straight line on xyxy-plane. Therefore, system of two equations of two variables describes mutual arrangement of two lines on a plane. If the system has one and only solution, then two lines are crossing, and the solution gives the coordinates of the intersection point. If the system has infinitely many solutions, the lines coincide. If the system has no solutions, then the lines have no common points, which entails that they are parallel.

Given the following system

{x+2y1=03xy+4=0\begin{cases} x + 2y - 1 = 0\\ 3x - y + 4 = 0 \end{cases}
