Vector norm and distance between vectors

Precise Printing

A company hires you to help them create the software for their new product: a 3D printer! You are part of the motor control software design team, responsible for the electric motors that move the printing head around on the XY plane (another team is responsible for the Z-axis, so no need to worry about that here)

Your first task is to find a way to determine the time that the printing head will take to move from one point to another, given that both motors will run at the same speed, simultaneously. Since time is distance divided by speed, and we're controlling the speed, we only need to find the distance. Of the three metrics that we saw in this topic, which one works the best for the job?

Hint: As the speed is the same for both motors, the motion will take as long as it needs to reach max(Δx,Δy)max(\Delta x, \Delta y).
