Population and sample

How many?

Report a typo

You've decided that it is the most reasonable to use quota sampling in the research of the average income. Below is the population distribution for all people ages 18 and older.

  • 35% — ages 18−30 (young people)
  • 51% — ages 31–65 (adults)
  • 14% — ages 65 and older (seniors)

You've already asked 70 young people and believe that it's enough. How many adults and seniors should you ask to maintain the correct quota ratio? As an answer, write down the two numbers, the number of adults and the number of seniors, separated by a dot.

For instance, you've calculated that you need 10 adults and 19 seniors, so you should write 10.1910.19
