Transforming a small space into a larger one

Report a typo

Intuitively, the surjective transformations T:VWT: \, V \rightarrow W fill all the WW space.

But what happens if WW is greater than VV, that is, the dimension of WW is greater than that of VV.

Can TT be surjective?

Hint: When TT is surjective, ImT=W\operatorname{Im} \, T = W.
