What happens if you don't create a run configuration manually and execute a Python file?

PyCharm asks you to specify a run configuration manually after you try to execute it

PyCharm creates a temporary configuration for that file with the default parameters

The question is irrelevant since you cannot manually modify a default run configuration in PyCharm

Nothing. You can't run a script without manually specifying a run configuration beforehand
