Imagine yourself as a biologist. The head of the laboratory you work for has asked you to measure the discrepancies between several pairs of DNA sequences. You have almost completed this task, while suddenly the Internet has been disconnected in the whole laboratory. Now you need to calculate the last pair of sequences manually, using the Damerau-Levenshtein function, and to compare it to the Levenshtein algorithm to prove the superiority of one or the other formula.
The sequences are CGATGAGCC and GCTACTCGG, and the Levenshtein distance between them is 7.
Decoding of designations in DNA sequences:

| Cytosine | C |
| Guanine | G |
| Thymine | T |
